Princess Beatrice and The Hat That Stole The Royal Wedding
Not since Carol Burnett descended a staircase wearing curtains and a curtain rod in her unforgettable Gone With the Wind skit has clothing caused the kind of stir that Princess Beatrice’s hat caused at the wedding of Prince William and the former Kate Middleton.
There were lots of snickers and lots of remarks and even a Facebook page dedicated to Princess” Beatrice’s Ridiculous Royal Wedding Hat (which has close to 138,000 fans) and certainly, we all wonder what Philip Treacy was thinking— or more to the point drinking— when he designed the antlered super-bow that perched precariously on Princess Beatrice’s head that day.
But fear not. All’s well that ends well. The Princess is going to turn a hat fail into a fabulous opportunity. It seems the bizarre headpiece will soon be up for auction on ebay with the proceeds going to UNICEF and Children in Crisis. The 22 year old princess’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, let the cat out of the bag during her interview with Oprah today.
So if you want to bid on the fabulous fascinator that almost stole the royal wedding. keep your eye on eBay. Only problem is it won’t go cheap, but it’s for a good cause and you’ll have a great piece of royal wedding memorabilia to leave to your grandchildren.
