I was going to blog today about the new, graphic warning labels for cigarette packs announced today by the FDA, because as a former heavy smoker, I have got a lot to say about smoking, quitting and the role of warnings in making it happen.
But somebody else beat me to it and did a fabulous job. I cannot improve on this moving post post from The Daily Dorkmonger which just says it all.
Here’s the link— I think it is a must read, especially if you smoke or care abiout someone who does.

The current polite notices on packs never stopped me. I wonder if the larger moire graphic ones announced today will make a difference? I have my doubts. Addiction never responds to reason. It takes a gut wrenching personal experience and often even that doesn’t do the trick. Read what the Daily Dormonger has to say about her cousin.
