I ate the chocolate cake

that you lovingly baked

and had left on the worktop.

I started with just a slice,

then another, it was so nice

you see, very  moreish, heavenly,

to be precise. 

There are now crumbs

just  a  dusting of brown,

remains on the white background

of your Limoges porcelain plate.
