In her candid and lovingly written book, Sheila Weinberg takes us through some of the pivotal points of her spiritual journey. Within this slim volume, Sheila gives us lucid narratives about turning points and life cycle events, birth, death, growing and aging, love and loss, and through these events her own very personal discoveries about religion, emotion and spirituality. A learned rabbi, she looks at Judaism with the eye of a person accomplished in the practices of yoga and meditation and interweaves religion and practice together into a fabric that is both compelling and instructive. Her skills as a teacher of meditation are evident in both tone and content. Although non-Jewish readers may find themselves referring to the handy glossary in the back of the book now and again, the work has valuable content for anyone who practices meditation and particularly for those trying to reconcile Judaism or Christianity with principals of mindfulness or Buddhism.
