An Eye On Life Open Call For True Stories of Workplace Madness

Do you hate your job? Do you love your job (or like it well enough) but have an insane true story about workplace bureaucracy, crazy corporate practices, or company malfeasance?

Maybe you just have a pet peeve or need a place to grind your favorite working person’s ax.

Whatever you have to say, we want to hear it.

Send your story or rant care of Eye On Life Magazine at /eye-on-life-team-e-mail/ and we will publish the craziest of the crazy and the best of the rest.

Choose to publish anonymously and we will absolutely respect your request, or sign your own name and we’ll set up your profile as a Guest Author and include any links you’d like to include to your own blogs or websites. You retain all rights to your tale, although at some point, if we receive an adequate number of submissions, we may, with your permission, compile them into an e-book that can be downloaded and printed on demand.

It’s hard to get a job these days, but sometimes, it’s even harder to have one.

Don’t hide your madness under a bushel basket. Blow your whistle, tell your tale, air that dirty laundry! The working world gets crazier by the minute, and everybody seems to have a story to tell. Tell yours, expose the madness, get it out in the healing light of day.

You might just be surprised by how much company you really have.

mmm. Well, I don't have time to carefully craft...and this isn't that crazy, but my latest, :), is that the musician friend (think lounge act type thing) is being paid more than my salary to play cheesy keyboards on the establishment floor 2 days and approximately 4 hours a day. :0)

Oh, I'm so happy for meetings and beratings and working weekends! I shoulda just picked up some keyboard lessons and made friends with the good 'ol boyz. oops! Wrong sex and age bracket. ;)

Hiya Lita :)

Yes, I was going to write up my "Can you afford to take a job?" rant but I decided to ask for other stories instead. I'd really like to make this a place where people can safely air this kind of craziness. Lots of PhDs fighting to make the coffee these days. Lots of engineers and finance industry folks too.

I keep getting emails about jobs that pay so horribly and require so much unpaid work that honestly, I think, who could AFFORD to take this? Isn't a job supposed to pay YOU???? lol! Those were the good old days--when jobs paid you instead of vice versa.

Americans are so spoiled. They think that just because they have a lifetime of professional experience, technical skills, college degrees, and other documented accomplishments they should be paid for labor.

lol...I'm sorry...that didn't completely make sense. I meant to say the musician friend of the quote, quote 'connected,' male -privilege-guy marketing director is making more in 2 days on 3 hours than my monthly salary, :).

It's so nice! I feel a righteous rage comin' on.
