Goody goody, here comes another ” chocolate is good for you” study to chase away the guilties of this chocoholic……. well, of course that isn’t all chocolate— dark chocolate is the good chocolate….you, know, the kind of chocolate that has been found to improve your cholesteral, lower blood pressure and improve cardio vascular health turns out to improve your vision as well. How cool is that?.
According to a new study from England’s University of Reading, dark chocolate just may significantly improve both your vision and cognition. Move over, carrots.
Last May, researchers measured the visual awareness and motion detection skills of 30 healthy young adults two hours after they consumed either dark or white chocolate. The study set out to examine the effects of cocoa flavanols on vision and cognition. And guess what they found out? The students who consumed dark chocolate had a definite increase in vision and cognition.
Of course more research is necessary to confirm and refine the preliminary findings— can’t wait. Where do I sign up? Meanwhile, pass the dark chocolate please. Bugs Bunny can have the carrots.

This would soooo explain a lot. If this is true, I have to say throughout the years since I began to appreciate and indulge in this lovely delicacy, I have really seen my eye sight improve. I never made a connection, and I'm sure there are other reasons, but still I'd like to think dark chocolate plays an important part. Great article!
