They’re fracking again in Texas, Wyoming and Pennsylvania and though they swear it is safe, the process is polluting the drinking water of large numbers of people with things that are not just bad for you— they are POISON. Benzine, methane, formahldihyde for starters.
There is ample evidence that in spite of industry disclaimers, fracking is permanently contaminating the drinking water of large numbers of people and evidence is mounting that it is the cause of birth defects, sickness and death. This is another example of big money and corporate interests trampling the rights of the little guy.
If you are late to tha party and haven’t heard about fracking, the basics are in the video below which I found posted on Lynn Hasselberger’s terrific environmental blog, I Count for My Earth
Lynn is always in the forefront with great green posts and this video is a real find. It explains the process and the dangers in simple terms and gives some frightening facts.
Once you listen, you won’t be able to get the tune or the message out of your head.
“My Water’s On Fire Tonight” is a product of Studio 20 NYU in collaboration with ProPublica.org. The song is based on ProPublica’s investigation on hydraulic fractured gas drilling.
